Skills FC Selected as Exclusive Club to Join Season Three of the Champions Cup Series
Burnsville, Minnesota (June 15, 2023) – Skills FC, a renowned soccer and futsal club based in Burnsville, Minnesota, has been chosen as one of the exclusive clubs to participate in the Champions Cup Series for the 2023-2024 season. The club's selection is a testament to their exceptional talent, dedication to player development, and commitment to providing unparalleled opportunities for all players ages six and above.
Since its inception in 2008, Skills FC has established itself as a leading force in the world of futsal and soccer. It all began with their weekly event called "Monday in The Lot," where futsal enthusiasts from various backgrounds would come together to showcase their skills and passion for the sport. The overwhelming response and vibrant atmosphere fueled the club's determination to create a space that fosters cultural diversity, skill development, and appreciation for different playing styles.
Recognizing the immense value of futsal after their initial event, Skills FC integrated the sport into their arsenal. Futsal became an everyday obsession for the club, with events, tournaments, leagues, trips, trainings, and camps being organized to provide players of all ages the opportunity to experience the beautiful game. Through their unwavering dedication, Skills FC has become a recognized authority in futsal development.
Under the guidance of their esteemed coaching staff, which includes Jason Popkin, Hoang Vo, Jakob Popkin, Aysha Popkin, Danny King, Beau Meyer, and Abdelhakim Ismail, Skills FC has achieved remarkable success. In 2022, they even expanded their scope by incorporating soccer, officially joining the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, and later joining the United Premier Soccer League with an adult team. This expansion allowed the club to create a comprehensive pathway from youth to professional, offering aspiring players a chance to hone their skills at every level. Now, they want to do more. As Skills FC embarks on their journey in the Champions Cup Series, their primary goals include athlete development and achieving peak performance.
