Started in 2016 by Kwadwo Frempong - or Coach K to his athletes - Young Starz is a club-neutral training organization that is focused on inspiring and developing youth soccer players. Within its first six years as an organization, Young Starz has won numerous local and regional championships with no intention to slow down.

“I’m looking forward to having our players compete against some of the top futsalers in the world,” said Frempong. “The Champions Cup Series is one of the premiere futsal events, and we cannot wait to get started.”

Luckily for the teams involved with Young Starz, they have a futsal heavyweight in their corner with Frempong. Hailing from the Republic of Ghana in West Africa, Coach K is a former Ghanaian National Team Player who also spent time in the UK, Canada and the United States on various semi-pro teams. With over 10 years of experience coaching youth soccer, he is the perfect person to inspire and develop his players to reach their full potential.

“What Coach K has done with the organization and player development in such a short period of time is extremely impressive,” said Rob Andrews, President of United Futsal. “The philosophy and mindset that he instills in all of his players is something that we can all use more of, and we look forward to the added competition that his teams will bring to the table.”

Each club accepted into the Champions Cup Series will play in three official tournaments throughout the year: the Conference Championship each winter, and the National Championships and World Futsal Championships each summer.
