Atlanta Club d’Futsal accepted into United Futsal Champions Cup Series for 2022 Expansion

May 14, 2021, 7:00:00 PM

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta Club d’Futsal has been officially accepted into the United Futsal Champions Cup Series. 2 nationally-recognized programs have joined forces to create the new club as Tempo Academy and Process F.C. will begin competing together to represent the Atlanta metro alongside current member Yellowcap FC as the only Georgia representatives in the 2022 campaign. They will be joined by renown Atlanta-area youth coach coach Javier Torres in forming the alliance.

Alex Muñoz,  Co-Founder, officially announced the acceptance today.

“We have many ambitious goals from winning national titles to competing in Spain. However, our biggest collective goal is to be an important part of the rise of Futsal in the United States. We believe Futsal is and should be available for all players year around for the ultimate development. By providing a quality futsal club we will play our tiny role in helping the United States develop better players for the future and for the sake of our national teams. Players are buzzin to compete, the Atlanta area has so much talent and will appreciate the opportunity to compete in Champions Cup Series.”

Muñoz has coached in the Atlanta area for many years, currently with nationally recognized NASA-TopHat. He has been running Tempo Academy in the Atlanta area since 2015. Mike Cedial, President of Process FC has been a mainstay at the World Futsal Championships with United Futsal for 3 years.

“I’m excited to show the world the Futsal talent ATL has”, said Cedial.

Rob Andrews, President of United Futsal, added, “We are thrilled to welcome Alex, Mike and Javier to the program. Their collective years of experience combined with the talent-rich Atlanta market will lead to some strong new teams to add to our competition pathway.”

The club will feature 4 boys and 4 girls futsal teams in bi-annual age divisions for the Champions Cup Series. Each team will compete in 3 official tournaments each year: Regional Championships each Winter and the National Championships and World Futsal Championships each Summer.
