United Futsal Welcomes Futsal TA into the Champions Cup Series for Season Three

Charlotte, NC (May 25, 2023) - Futsal Training Academy, Futsal TA (FTA), announced today its selection as one of 32 clubs across the United States to compete in Season 3 of United Futsal's Champions Cup Series. The selection validates FTA's three-year commitment to fostering top-tier talent, yielding multiple local and national titles, including the United Futsal Regional Showcase and World Futsal Championships.

They will compete in the Appalachian Conference against clubs from Ohio, Florida and Virginia on their road the the National Championship in Orlando this Summer.

Founded in 2020, FTA swiftly made an impact on the Charlotte sports scene, annually reaching over 300 young athletes and partnering with Major League Soccer’s Charlotte FC as their exclusive futsal club partner. More than 30 current and former players have earned spots in Charlotte FC's Academy and discovery programs. The Champions Cup Series selection signifies another significant milestone for FTA, and has provided an opportunity to expose their talent on a broader stage, boost player development, and garner national recognition.

“We have been involved in United Futsal events since 2018,” said club's President Thiago, “It was the right time to join the series, offering our players an actual path, opportunities for talent identification, and competing in well-organized, challenging events.”

FTA's philosophy of providing a fun, challenging environment for individual player growth aligns seamlessly with the ethos of the Champions Cup Series. The club's vision has fueled their preparation for the series, including intensive weekly training, summer camps, the Brazilian Futsal Festival, co-hosted clinics with Charlotte FC, and friendly matches with regional clubs.

United Futsal's focus on competitive matches, national recognition, a defined player path, and well-organized events mirror FTA's objectives. “This partnership will motivate and push our players to their highest level,” says Coach Thiago.

Boasting an international coaching staff with deep-rooted ties to Brazil and the U.S., FTA brings a diverse and experienced approach to player development. Coach Thiago, a former professional soccer player and collegiate first team All-American, is joined by Coaches Yang, Diego, and Kevin, all of whom have vast experience coaching youth and professional clubs in Brazil and the United States.

This prestigious selection validates FTA’s commitment to becoming a leading player development club. FTA is thrilled for the challenge and looks forward to competing in the Champions Cup Series.
