Two Months to Blanes

The World Futsal Cup returns to the Costa Brava on December 26. Clubs from four continents, reigning champions to dethrone and the first USA regional teams on the world stage.

Two months from today, the best youth futsal clubs on the planet walk into the same sports hall in Blanes, on Spain's Costa Brava, to decide who gets to call themselves world champions. The World Futsal Cup runs December 26 to 31, and the countdown is officially on.

What the World Futsal Cup Is

This is not a showcase, a camp or a friendly tour. It is a tournament, played for a title, in front of an international crowd, every December since the first edition. Clubs apply, United Futsal confirms them, and from the first whistle every match counts.

Over the years the youth academies of Barça Futsal, Corinthians, Benfica, Santos, Panathinaikos and Dynamo Kyiv have sent their players to Blanes to measure themselves against the world. Their crests are part of the tournament's history. The question each December is who writes the next chapter.

The Crowns on the Line

The World Futsal Cup is played across age divisions, and each one has a reigning champion to dethrone:

  • Cadete: ElPozo Futsal
  • Infantil: Barça Futsal
  • Alevín: Barça Futsal
  • Benjamín: NF Futsal

Every crown is defended in Blanes. None of them is handed over.

Who Is Coming

Confirmations keep arriving, and the list already reads like a map of the sport:

  • Barça Futsal (Spain), defending two titles on home soil.
  • Newcastle Futsal (England).
  • Goiás Esporte Clube, AF Futebol Clube, Five Futsal and Gyn City, four clubs carrying the Brazilian school of the game across the Atlantic.

More clubs are announced regularly on the tournament page and on United Futsal's channels.

A First for Team USA

This edition also marks a turning point for American futsal. For the first time, the United States does not arrive as a collection of individual clubs. Through the new National Council, four regional rosters take the court as their own teams:

  • USA Northeast
  • USA Southeast
  • USA Midwest
  • USA Southwest

Each region is selected by its own scouting staff and plays as a standalone squad against the rest of the world. Regional pride, on a world stage.

The Most Watched Stage in the Game

Blanes is where moments go global. Full matches, highlights and photos from the World Futsal Cup travel far beyond the hall, and a single play can put a young player and a club in front of an audience most academies never reach.

Two Months Out

Flights are booked, rosters are closing and the reigning champions know exactly who is coming for them. If your club is still weighing it, applications remain open on the World Futsal Cup page; every application is reviewed and confirmed by United Futsal before a place is set.

December 26. Blanes. One world title per division, and a hall full of players who have been waiting all year for it.
